Fred Harteis Sports News - Former New York Yankees player Jim Leyritz was arrested on charges of drunk driving and manslaughter on Friday after a woman died in a Florida car crash.

 

Fort Lauderdale Police Department said a preliminary investigation found that at around 3:20 a.m. EST on Friday, Leyritz had failed to obey a red light at an intersection and collided with another vehicle.

Fred Harteis Sports News- After 21 seasons, Vinny Testaverde has had enough.

 

The 44-year-old quarterback said Saturday that he'll retire after Carolina's season finale at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Fred Harteis Sports News - The NFL has fined official Jim Quirk one game check for inappropriate physical contact with players, including Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett.

 

The fine totals $8,150, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Friday.

 

The decision came after Quirk grabbed Barnett by the neck and threw him to the ground while breaking up a scuffle during the Packers' loss at Chicago on Sunday.
